Will Child Support Be Put On Hold?

My ex was collecting unemployment and he is now working again but he gets paid biweekly and hold back 2 weeks. Does that mean I wont get support until he gets his first check?

Hello Melissa,

First, thanks again for being a valued VIP member. From our understanding, you might not get a check until he gets paid after his two weeks. Also, it depends on if the new employer has received the paperwork to start processing child support.

So it could take some time to get everything processed as the employer can't take out child support for time he has not worked yet.

yes and even after that it may take up to 30 days, because that is the time allotted for the employer to take out child support. Be sure to talk to the courts and make sure they know that he is currently working.
