What is the best way to handle this situation?

My husband and I are legally separated for over a year, and currently filing divorce papers. He was unemployed before we separated. When we first separated, he moved away to a different state to so call find a job. We have a daughter who is 5 years old. I told him that I will take care of our daughter and pay for everything until he find a job. It has been almost a year and a half and he said he still could not find a job.

I'm starting to think it is unfair for me to keep raising our daughter by myself while his excuse is that he can not find a job. He promise that he will start sending money each month, just as long as I don't file child support on him. He has send over some money, maybe every other month, but I had to keep hounding him about it, What is the best way to handle this situation?
