Unique Child Support Situation
(Las Vegas, Nevada)
My current wife and I have 8 children. I just got ordered to pay $400 a month for another child that I had through an extra marital affair. This child was the 5th born (keeping in chronological order) . My oldest is 20 yrs old, who is still at home and a full time student. Based on the case of Hoover v Hoover, the calculation should have put my child support payments at $244 a month. How can I appeal the order for $400 a month? And does my calculation seem accurate? Based on the calculation of the above noted case, the Max amount for total child support is 39% of my gross income - that number (which is $1,950 per month) would then be split up amongst my 7 minor children - which then calculates to be $244 per child, per month.
I am still married and the sole supporter of my family. In the response filed by the mother, she stated that her ex husband is and has been the child's father figure (they all live in another state than I). Being that he has taken on the parental role as father - does this hold any weight with the courts in regards to child support? Please Advise
