Taken By The Child Support And Court System

First off I am a non-custodial parent. I found out about my daughter when she was 7 and I began paying child support, and have faithfully paid and still pay currently for her. She is now soon to be 18 but will receive support of one more year because of school. Everything till this year has run fairly smooth. This year though my daughter's maternal grandparents petitioned for custody, and they now have custody. During the transition things between my family and the grandparents have been wonderful. They are loving people who desire the best for their granddaughter.

The original child support order was set up through Columbiana County Ohio, where the custodial parent lived at the time. When the custody changed, things had to be transferred to Stark County Ohio. Things were mishandled and the process has taken a long time. My pay still reflects child support going out, but the grandparents have received none. Columbiana County impounded all monies coming to them back in Nov. 2009. Meanwhile Stark County established a support order without any notification to me of a hearing. As a result, the filed paperwork shows that I owe 372.00 and the mother owes 223.00. That wouldn't be a problem except that the worksheets attached to the filed paperwork shows they got those two figures mixed, saying that I am responsible to pay what the mother was to pay and she pays the amount I owe.

The reason I am asking for a free VIP membership is this. The mother is currently working for social services in Stark County. Her supervisor is my caseworker. I feel that things were tampered with before they were filed by the mother, resulting in the mix up. As of now my caseworker advises I pay an attorney, which my family cannot afford, to fight to get the filed paperwork corrected. On top of the nearly $150.00 extra a month in support, I am told that I am in arrears of over $2,000.00 even though I have paystubs to prove I have paid support non-stop. When Stark County began their order they backed it up till Sept. And if you recall the money was not impounded in Columbiana until November. Since May 2009 my daughter has lived with her grandparents while the mother continued to collect support through October. Now there are two months of support which I paid but Stark County Ohio won't acknowledge that because it was paid in a different County and it went to the mother and not the grandparents.

I feel I have already been trampled on and lied to by Child Support. I was repeatedly told that things were not finalized yet and not to worry about the wrong amount, they would find that and correct it. I have been lied to for 4 months already, deceived and quite honestly fed up with the injustice of it all. I do not desire to have the mother fired I just want things set straight and corrected. I don't even care about the support she received for the 7 months she received support without passing it on to her daughter who lived in another house. I just want vindicated. I have done nothing wrong, I established support when I found out that she was my daughter, and I don't have a problem with the responsibility I have to my daughter.
