by Nathan
(St Helens or)

My ex wife wants me to sign over my rights and she said that she does not want the back child support. Can she do that? Stop the back child support.

Nathan,

Your ex can stop the arrears, but there are some factors involved. First, has she ever been on government assistance? If so, she cannot forgive the amount owed to the state.

If you decide to do this, you should hire an attorney to make sure all your ducks are in a row. We can help with that.

Also, are you sure that you want to sign over your parental rights? You can respond via this post.
