Step Mother And Child Support

I have found that being a step mother means nothing in the State of New Mexico. I have a seven year old daughter that I care deeply for. I never refer to her as my step daughter and treat her as my own. It is terrible how step mothers are treated when it comes to custody and child support. I have been treated rudely on the phone on more than one occasion by NM child support enforcement staff. My husband and I do always pay on time submit out information on time and are still treated rudely. It actually seems that we were penalized for getting our information in on time at some points. There have been occasions where the child's mother has not submitted any pay information and they just take her word for it. My husband and I both work and take pride in our jobs while she gets unemployment, child support from us, state aid, and low income housing. I just cant believe the agency would let that happen, yet when I call to try to get things straightend out I am treated so rudely.
