Status of child support order

by Cheryl Noel
(Courtland, Virginia)

My X husband was ordered to pay child support in Virginia in 1990 for our two children. Over the years he paid very little and I know there was a large arrears balance. I went through Support Enforcement, but a few years ago they sent me a letter saying they were giving up on the case because he is claiming disability now.

I want to update the files to include my new address, just in case he ever is caught and any monies are paid. Who can I contact to get an update and make sure they have my address correct. Also, how long will the child support order be in record and enforceable? He lost his drivers license years ago, but I have heard he now has one.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
