State Closing My Child Support Case For Being Uncooperative

by Danni
(Fort Morgan CO)

Fort Morgan Colorado child enforcement is closing my case for Me being uncooperative. I was able to collect nearly $5,000 directly from my Ex husband for child support arrears that amount to about $23,000. Amy Segal my case worker who I never never was able to reach in like 4 years gets a phone call from my ex complaining that more money was held out of his check and that he wanted credit for the money he paid to me and this women lost her mind and cool, I received phone call after phone call from her demanding receipts and other proof she wanted to do "her paperwork" and also to talk to me like I was a child or to stupid to understand just how important her paperwork was Much more important than Me being homeless and jobless and did not want to wait another 10-15 years for her to do her paperwork and telling me I can not collect money from him on my own she was talking to me like I had an IQ of 4 (I have a bachelors degree and my GPA was 3.7) and I told her I would bring all she needed when I had collected what me and my EX Eugene had agreed on. I had to hang up on her more than a few times and I finally told her basically this I could and would collect any and all money due to me because they never have and never will and to take a flying leap I would give her what she needed on my terms and time frame. I then received a letter with a "contract" for me to sign stating I would not collect any money other than what went through the state registry and a demand and dead line for all receipts or my case would be closed and the next letter I received about 2 days after the dead line was that my case was being closed for being uncooperative in 60 days My ex also told me he received a letter from Amy Segal telling him that his drivers license was going to be taken away for being uncooperative!

He has been paying through the state as required! Now if this is true I can not say for sure as I only heard this from him but he did say he went to a lawyer if this is a fact I do not know for sure. But after the Morgan county child support enforcements little hissy fit My ex has now went back into hiding and stopped paying every thing. I have complained to department heads and supervisors in the Morgan county office, this was a total was of time where to I go for some help and to maybe stop Morgan county's child support enforcement from abusing thier power at others expense.

I have been dealing with somewhat of the same thing after 2 years my ex is still not paying. I have gotten in touch with child support a number of times and you know what they told me? Do you have the name of your ex, the address, and when your ex gets paid and how much. Also the name of the company and its address so we can look into it? These people are doing this for what reson? If we keeping doing it all what are they getting paid for? Oh and by the way I was told any money recieved that does not go through them is considered a gift and not support in any way. Not that that has been happening either.

You did this to yourself

It's against the rules to collect payments personally from your ex once you have established court ordered support.

Payments are supposed to go through their system so both parties get proper credit.

Refusing to show receipts for those payments does allow the state to close the case permanently.
