Son Doesn't Live With Custodial Parent

My stepson lives in Arizona and is 17 (18 in a month). My husband and I live in New York, where the child support was ordered. My stepson has moved out of his mom's house and lives with a friend and is also about to become a father himself. My husband wants to know whether he is required to continue paying support.
