Public Assistance And Forgiving Child Support Arrears

I live in Ohio and my sons father lives in South Carolina he has asked me to ask for him to have forgiveness for his past child support. before i make a decision on this i am wondering if this will cause my public assistance with childcare, food, and Medicaid to be affected in anyway like being cut off of the programs?

Thanks for your question. Actually if you are on public assistance now and have been in the past you CANNOT forgive the arrears. Your ex owes the state for the monies, food stamps and medical you have been receiving. The state of Ohio will proceed and try to collect the back support from him. How long have you been receiving assistance?
