Paying Child Support From New Zealand
(New Zealand)
My husband has 2 children who were born in the USA, and who reside with their mother in Yukon, Oklahoma. Since their divorce in 2003, they have had a very bitter relationship that has impacted constantly and negatively on the relationship my husband has tried to maintain with his daughters.
The short version is that he moved back to NZ in 2005, after a messy and very ugly divorce battle - lots of accusations and anger from both sides.
We have had a private arrangement regarding supporting my husbands daughters/ his contact with his daughters since he returned to NZ. But it hasn't been working well over the last 5, 6 years or so.
There is a lot of water under the bridge, including that the ex wife is unhappy that we are married and have 2 children here in NZ.
The bottom line is that I want my husband to pay regular child support, but he refuses to pay directly to the mother of his daughters anymore.
I don't really know how to go about setting up payments that are not routed through the mother anymore (from NZ and in NZ dollars), and how we can arrange for my husband to re-establish a relationship with his daughters in a positive environment.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to your reply.
