Paying Back Child Support And Birth Certificate

by Edward
(DFW, TX, USA)

I have recently found out I have a 30 year old daughter. I was never informed of this back in 1980. A different man is listed as the father and my name is not on the birth certificate. If a DNA test proves she is mine, can she or her mother sue for back child support in the state of Texas?

Hi Edward,

No, the man that signed the birth certificate if he paid support he can actually sue the mother for the back support not you. Just because you did not sign the birth certificate does not mean anything either. Did you know she was your child?
