Passport Denied Due To Child Support Balance

I am getting married July 4 2010 in Isla Mujeres Mexico. oh wait no i am not. My fiance got his passport last week and I got a letter denying mine. His mother paid a few thousand dollars for our wedding present to Mexico and did not buy the travel insurance. Because I am in arrears I cannot get my passport.

My daughters dad has been in jail for months for molesting her and is pending 12 sex abuse charges and the state is still making me pay him even though she has lived with me this entire time! where is the justice? i pay on time every month and by taking from me they are taking from her! we have gone thru such a hard time with this and it never ends.

I had this wedding planned for months and because of this monster and &@#! up system, i wont have my wedding and wont have one bit of relaxation cause I'm a prisoner of this country

Ok ready for this one? My husband is currently stationed overseas and while home on leave we decided it would be a good idea to get his passport. He doesn't have to have one to go to where he is stationed, however if he wants to visit other countries near by he has to have one. So we apply, and after paying all the fees- several weeks later we receive a letter explaining how my husband has been denied a passport due to being behind on child support. Now let me explain this, for several years as a civilian he had trouble finding permenant employment so yes he got behind and since then has gone back in the service, but I ASSURE YOU the US Military makes sure the child support and back support payments come out of his check before we ever see it.
BOTTOM LINE : Ironically my husband serving his country, stationed overseas has been denied a passport for travel overseas due to back child support which he is pating. The system ,like all other government systems is et up to hurt the ones who do right because having been a single mother myself I can tell you if the non-custodial parent wants to avoid child support, they don't have to leave the country to do so.

Try getting an enhancing License

You should be able to get an Enhanced License if you border Mexico, that's handled by the states not the Feds. Worth looking into. The other option look up Department of Homeland Security Identification requirements and you should be good as well with using an Original Birth Cert and Driver's License and Social Security Card (non-laminated).

I HAVE PLANS GOING THE MILITARY BUT CANT BECAUSE OF MY BACK CHILD SUPPORT,ITS SAD BECAUSE EVEN IF YOU ARE COMPLYING WITH THE COURTS AND PAYING ON TIME,I UNDERSTAND SOME LAWS WITH CHILD SUPPORT BUT THIS ONE MAKES KNOW SENSE THEY SAY ITS BECAUSE PEOPLE RUNS TO A DIFFERERNT COUNTRY AND DONT WANTED TO PAY YEA RIGHT THIS BS BECAUSE THEY HAVE YOUR SOCIAL SO WHAT HOW FAR CAN U RUN WITH OUT USING YOUR SOCIAL DUMB S...,I FILL LIKE IF THAT PARENT IS PAYING THEY SHOULD BE APPOVED JUST LIKE DRIVE LICENSE BUT THEY DONT SEE IT LIKE THAT TO THEM WE ALL ARE DEADBEAT PARENTS THATS ON CHILD SUPPORT,IT'S SAD.

payments being garnished

Well, my husband is all caught up on child support and they are still garnishing his paycheck. Just sucks for the employer bc they have to send child support a ck every week bc he gets pd wkly. And his employer charges him a fee for having to send the pymts in. Why can't he just send in the pymts like every other support paying parent? I don't get it. I thought they ony garnished it if you owe arrears? And, yes, the system is only for the mother too. My husband and his daughters mother were never married. So there is no custody set. He is made to pay her child support (which I dont have a problem with, he is the father he should support his child) but she is not made to let him see his daughter. She is almost 12 and he's seen her maybe 5 times her whole life. She doesnt let him see her because she can. I think if the father is made to pay the mother should be made to let him see his child.

If the father was behind in child support and his passport was denied but he is totally caught up on his payments now, can he get a passport now. Does he have to call to get the "denial" lifted? My husband and I have being saving up for 8 years now to go on a cruise and we finally got the $$ and he is no longer behind on child support. How do we know he can get his passport now?

I pay child support and I want to go on to baja california, ca for my sisters sweet 15 and I have been paying child support and back pay my beatyfull charming x screwed me nut n-e-ways they refused my pass port anyone know if i have options here. FYI I am not planning a getaway to mexico please I was born here and my life is here I just want to be their for my sister and family this is sooo not fair.. any comments... or know who i can talk to like a judge or something?

The purpose is not to collect child support but to restrict the travel of Americans and get them used to the idea that leaving requires permission of their betters. This can of course be denied for an ever increasing list of reasons, mistakes, and eventually getting one will be by permission only and at the pleasure of the Executive.

Slaves must understand that they require massa's permission to leave the plantation after all. Remember that you didn't used to need a license to drive it was just a way to support those who would help you if you had a problem - now you MUST have a license to drive and do anything and everything else.

Losing your national ID card means the loss of person hood and who cares about non-people who can't travel? With the economy in free fall and millions out of work there is a real tsunami of "dead-beats" on the horizon. So much evil ready to be fought by our brave staff of child support enforcement troopers who will root out those evil out of work monsters, harass them, punish them, shred their papers, sentence them to homelessness and jail them again and again and again without mercy.

Remember there is NEVER an excuse to not pay your government its child support. Not being in a coma, not being a prisoner of war, not being in prison (wrongfully convicted and later proven innocent) there is NO excuse reality be damned! Dead-beats don't need to travel, or drive, or qualify for food stamps, or be able to work without having all their money seized so they can't buy food or have shelter - too bad - they exist ONLY to "support" the current system.

I just can't wait for the next step in the brave new world... labor camps to get those horrible dead beats caught up? Perhaps we could harvest and sell their organs or experiment on them with the proceeds going towards their debt? Ideas? How much could we get if we allowed rich people to hunt them or put them into gladiator type games on television?

It's for the children right so *no* extreme is too much... the path ahead and behind is full of good intentions so who cares where we are going!

Unfair laws on back child support NEW

I met my husband 8 years ago, we go married in Jamaica without passports in 2006. We want to go back there again to stay at the same place we stayed when we got married. My husbands divorce decree shows that his ex was pregnant at time of divorce and she didn't know who the father was, and the divorce decree states that he is not held responsible for the unborn child and gives up all rights as he did not think it was his. After 4 years go by, he gets an order to go take a paternatiry test, guess what , it is his. So now he is considered 4 years behind in child support. He has had the support and arrears coming out of his check for years now, but got denied a passport because arrears is over $2500.00 thru not fault of his own. He refuses to pay the arrears up to date in one lump sum because of the bitterness and betrayal of his ex. So, we will not be traveling out of the country for quite some time.
