Obtaining Child Support From Biological Father

My wife and I separated for a year. In that time she became pregnant. I accepted her back fully knowing the situation. The Biological Father is aware of the pending pregnancy, and so far has not denied the fact that he his the father. Right now my wife and I are on the fence about staying together. All I know after briefly talking to a Lawyer is that I will be on the Birth certificate when the Child is born which will be while we are married. ( no time for divorce even if we knew we wanted one) So here are my questions : 1 what right will the biological father have if any? Can we collect child support from him? what right will I have since I will be investing in the paternal Relationship? If we are able to collect Child support do I loose any rights.
