Nothing Done About Back Child Support In Missouri

I have recently divorced from a 10 year abusive marriage. I have 4 children with Roger Lee Burton. He was ordered by the courts to pay $993 a month starting last January! He owes these children over $12,000 and has only paid $600 for 4 kids in a year. He also is on probation for numerous things. He only got 2 years unsupervised probation for assaulting me and putting me in the hospital to have my face stitched back together. I have called child support enforcement NUMEROUS times and have yet to see anything done. I haven't even so much as gotten any paperwork in the mail on my case. I'm extremely upset and have lost all faith with the judicial system. I've been punished as a victim and nothing has happened to him. He just skips through life and never answers to any of the trouble he's been in. It’s very sick.

I guess my main question is, how can a violent offender ON PROBATION get away with NEVER paying any child support and how can it be up to $12,000 in arrears and nothing has been done? He's not even been to court once over this matter. Please prove me wrong and restore my faith in this country and judicial system because where I stand this country doesn't know what justice is and should never stand behind the statue holding scales with a blind fold on is a joke and a lie. It’s all about who you are and how much money is in your bank account. Justice is not blind to the dollar sign. PLEASE HELP me and my beautiful kids and restore hope in my soul. God bless.

We thank you for your post, and we are very sorry for the troubles with your ex. There are things that can be done, but it will take some serious effort on your part. As you stated, calling and complaining to child support doesn’t work. The next step is to file a motion with the court system charging him with contempt of non-payment of support.

You sound like an intelligent woman, so you should be able to file a motion on your own without hiring an attorney. Don’t give up because you and your children deserve to receive the child support you are owed. Our question to you is, does your ex have a job or any income coming in. I ALSO HAVE A ABUSIVE EX. AMOS MATLOCK III BELTON MO. HE IS 18,300.01 BEHIND, BEEN CHARGED WITH A CLASS D FELONY AND PUT ON 5 YRS PROBATION IN 2006. AT THAT TIME HE WAS ONLY 5 GRAND BEHIND. LOL SO FELONIES TO ABUSIVE MEN MEAN NOTHING. CRAP THAT US MOTHERS ARE TREATED THIS WAY.
