Not A Dead Beat Dad

by Jason
(Huntsville Texas USA)

I have two children with my ex wife whom lives in California. She is living with a new man and living a happy life with him and my children. I live-in Texas and am remarried and have a child with my wife and she brought to the relation ship a child of her own.

First, I have not been allowed to see my children for a few years now. I am not able to even speak with them on the phone or even Facebook. NO visitation allowed by ex wife. I have tried with failed attempts and frustration.

I hav e been paying $750 in child support since the order came through. There was a moment where I was out of work and now I pay on arrears. November 2010 She requested a modification and I now pay $1150 in child support and $50 on arrears. I am faithful at paying even though it is very hard. The court does not consider my kids here in Texas. I work on commission and never know what I will make.

Today I get from her again another modification it seems she is now trying to increase the arrears. I am in shock. My wife I am with her ex husband does not pay child support...Dead Beat for sure....Me however...I do, plus pay foe everything. Note: I own no home, I have no bank account, I live pay check to pay check, no savings and here in Texas we do the best we can to survive with a smile. I am worried that if they increase this could mean a horrible situation for my family here.

I will not be able to sustain us. Where does the court really consider the facts? She is doing well financially and as mentioned before I make sure I pay each month. Please tell me what to do. I am at my wits end and am about to give up and become a real dead beat dad. California considered as well the no visitation as a reason to increase....she will not let me see them what can I do...It out of hate she continues to charge at me.. I miss my kids and love them dearly and can do nothing about it.

So you had another child knowing you couldn't afford the two you already had? Good move.
