Non custodian parent not working

My daughter has filed and epo on her ex-boyfriend, went to court, he had broken his epo by calling her at work, and emailing messages to her. Court ordered her primary caretaker, he gets visitations every other weekend. Going to seek a lawyer tomorrow about full custody/child support. She works and makes descent money, he does not work at all. My question is: Can he be forced to work to help take care of his child despite how much money she makes and can he loose all visitations if he refuses not to work and pay?

First, the courts will set an amount for child support whether the person having to pay has a job or not. It is that person's responsibility to seek work or however it is they will be paying. If the courts didn't order child support simply because someone doesn't have a job, then the support would not be order nor paid. That would be too easy. Child support and visitation are two separate issues. No parent should keep the other from seeing their child(ren) because of non-child support payment. It is not the chilren's fault. Everything is in the best interest of the children, not the parents. The only reason children should not be allowed to go to the other would be for abuse, drugs, etc.
