New Spouses Income Subject To Child Support Deductions?

by Kat
(Texas)

I plan on marrying someone that is paying child support. Once we are married will my income be seen as an additional source of income to where the state can access my income for his child support?

Don't Think So

Hello Kat,

I think you are safe! We have not heard of a situation where the spouses income could be deducted for child support as of yet. I would check with an attorney in your state just to be sure.

Thanks,

Although....!

In my situation My ex did marry ,supossedly is not working for a ck but is working for cash under the table, I was told he married her because they would not have to use her income to help pay! In this case they both laughed in my face and walked away. I believe if ANY sort of income can be used either by payroll, lottery etc....for their method of determining support ,this should also be factored in.
