Its her fault that she never filed for support. Your daughter is already 18 you should not have to pay anything unless she is going off to college. If you go to court you can let them know that she refused to let you see your daughter and that your daughter dont know you well at all.

Dont be scared i know that when my mom left when i was 15. My dad had asked if he can get back child support for my twin sister and I he was not able to. They told him he could try, but it would be hard to make a claim when we already graduated and turned 18. I hope everything works out for you.

RETROACTIVE CHILD SUPPORT
by: Anonymous

My husband has to pay 53,000 on 4 years back child support. The mother never allowed my husband to see his daughter and when my husband went to court to set up child support payments when his daughter was 4 the mother never appeared in court she said she did not want anything from him.

Now daughter is 17 and mother filed for child support and apparently by law he has to pay 4 years back $53,000 is a lot. Is there any way that this amount be reduced or interest free? or something. I wanted to help her years before and now i have to pay even with interest? I don't think is fair. Comments will be appreciated thanks.
