Making Payment On Back Child Support

by David
(San Antonio TX)

I am up to date on my back child support (just started paying this year). I received a letter informing that my income tax is going to be withheld until my back child support is payed off. I am currently married and need advice on how to file my income tax. Any help is greatly appreciated in. My child support is in the state of Texas.

Child Support Questions
by: Child Support America Team Member

Dear David,

You and your may wife should consider filing married but separately. Your taxes can be offset, even with your wife on them. Even if your wife files an ISC. Injured Spouse Claim it is like pulling teeth for her to get any money owed to her. (your current wife)

Thanks
