About a year ago I got custody of my son after paying child support for 2 years on time that came straight out of my check. Every couple of months somehow I would owe them a couple of hundred dollars. Anyways I now have custody of my son and cant get hardly anything from my ex and child support wants to tell me o she made a little payment. She is fine but she has accumulated $1600.00 since April of last year at a whole whopping $50.00 a week. Its just ridiculous the stuff I go though but when the shoe was on the other foot I would have done been in jail and had some kind of charges pressed on me. I think the system is screwed and today I talked to one of the attorneys fixing to take her to court Friday and he informed me basically she was gonna get a slap on the hand and told me she has figured out the system and will probably never-face consequences.

Hello David,

Thank you for your comments and concerns. Talk to your attorney and see if you are able to write a letter to the judge or even speak in court. This will give you the opportunity to express your feelings and make the judge aware of your side of the situation. Have you tried taking her to court for the back support?

I know how you feel. Women who don't have custody of their children have more sympathy with the court, and the fact is, women are way more manipulative than men are.

My husband has custody of his children, and the mother has a college degree and works. She was supposed to maintain suitable housing for their children in exchange for not having to pay child support. As the years went by, she began doing better for herself and we watched the kids for her on her weekends (sometimes) as she took out of state trips to see concerts, vacations, and to visit friends.

When she did get sued for child support, she hired an attorney to fight it, and had it reduced to a very small amount. And when she did that, she began to make remarks about how it was being spent, etc. as if it gave her some right to exert more control over our household.

I have found women to be as abusive or even more abusive than men. And another sad thing is, this same woman has tried to harm both of us physically, has broken the law, been in contempt and the courts are sooooo darn lenient. She got pregnant by another man at one point, threatened my life in front of her children and my daughter, and told me that they wouldn't do anything to her because she was pregnant.
And she was right.

Courts need to stop automatically taking a woman's word and side on everything because the world is changing.

Sorry to vent here, not sure how I ended up on this page or even saw this comment. But I hope someone helps you David.

She can go get a job and help support her child.

My ex wife and i have been divorced for the past 10 yrs. I have always paid my child support through my employer so it has always came out of my check. 4 years ago she moved to redmond oreagon and i have seen my kids a whole 14 days since they moved. I dnt understand how she can cus and degrade me and threatin me wit jail time when she dnt get a payment on time.

It is not in my hands when the money comes striaght out my check. Wat can i do when the divorce decree states the exact money i have to pay AND also the dates that i am suppose to get vistations. I am suppose to have them every other weekend and so on and so forth. ( the standard visitation) PLZ someone help

i know how you feel about not gettin to see your kids i am supposed to pay child support n was paying up til a yr ago when i got injured an filed for disability n was put in jail for 1500 cash bond n body attachment which meant i had to come up with the whole amountof 1500 but it was reduced to 500 anyway i havent seen nor heard from my ex or my or daughter in 2 1/2 yrs and i still have to pay even tho the decree states that neither one of us is supposed to leave the state w/out the court or other knowing bout it they dont care if u filed for disability and not able to pay or work n u have no home urself
