Local Child Support Agency For Forgive Of Arrears

I owe arrears in California for my 2 boys whose ages are 15 and 18 now. (I only owe arrears, no current child support is in order as the boys live back and forth between us) I am blessed to have a decent relationship with their father (though it want always that way) who is willing to forgive me the back support due to hardship. My question to you is this, can their father and I go to our local child support agency where our case is out of to settle this or do we have to go to court and see a judge?

Hello Sandra,

You should try your local office first. They may be willing to take care of this situation. If not then you will have to go to court and get it ordered. Have you called your caseworker and attempted to get any paperwork started?

Thank you so much for your response. I am currently in the process of contacting the caseworker for our case. I hope to settle this through local agency and not have to go through court process.
