Kids At Child Support Hearing

by tesha
(Charleston, SC, USA )

When I go to my first child support hearing, can I bring my child for a paternity test to speed up the process or do I have to wait for the judge to schedule a date. I already know of the back my child's father is denying him. Also I will like to know how and when will I get the results back.

Child Support Questions
by: Child Support America Staff

Hi Tesha,

No you should not bring your child to the first hearing. The tests are normally performed in a clinic and not at the court house. Yes the judge will set an appointment date for the test.

Thanks
