IRS Document For Child Support

by garrett
(ny)

I pay my child support every week for five years and my wife refuses to sign the IRS form allowing me to declare my son as a dependent. I filed a case against her in court but now she is responding by taking me to court for a child support modification.

Question: What is a sufficient time period of cancelled child support checks to bring with me to the hearing? I only have 1 year of cancelled checks on file. i can probably go to the bank for previous years but it will cost $10 for each monthly statement and take a while to get (hearing is on 3/29). If I go back since we divorced thats $120 a year for 4 years = $480!!!
