If my child's father bring her to child support court

by Tracey
(Baltimore, MD)

We have a court date coming up very soon to set the child support amount. I am 17 and the father is 18. For the past 2 months, the father and his mother have been watching our 19 month old daughter while I go to school and my mother works. If they bring her to court on the day we establish the child support, will that cause the father not to have to pay child support. Also, if he has been buying her things for the last 2 months and keeping it at his house, does that mean he doesn't have to pay child support in Maryland?
