How do I stop a child support order and get custody

I just found out that my 16 year old daughter's mom abandoned her six months ago and my daughter has been living with a friend. Her mother is still collecting support. I want to know do I have the right to get custody and is it illegal for her to collect child support.

Yes you have the right to get custody. do you have contact with your daughter? She can go to court herself and say that she chooses to live with you since she is over the age of 12 and you wont have to deal with the mother. even if your daughter doesnt want to live with you< you still have that right. also just call the child support office and tell them you want to report child support fraud. they should stop making you pay.Then once you have custody you should be able to collect child support from the mother.
