How Do I Know If Husband Owes Child Support Arrears

I married a man who went to jail for failure to pay. He is on parole until 10-2010. He says his parole officer makes him pay more than he owes. Mail from the state shows him still to be $51,000 in arrears. Help. I have his case # but cannot determine the truth to anything he tells me.
