What You Can Do
by: Anonymous

Thank you for your question. Here at CSA we are very concerned with answering your questions. You will have to contact your local child support office and open a case. You will have to open your case in the county you and the child reside in. When the child is born a paternity test will be ordered for the child to determine that he is the father. If the results determine that he is the father then an amount will be ordered according to income. You can begin the process now so that when the child is born they will order the paternity test. You should try and have as much information about the father as possible. For example current address, phone numbers, possibly social security number. this will help your case immensely. Do you still have contact with the alleged baby's father?

parent locating service
by: Child Support America Team Member

Before you hire an attorney, check to see if your local child support agency has a parenting location service. Some agencies offer this service for free. If you ever need to hire an attorney check out our VIP memberships page before doing so. We have a program that offers discounts on attorney fees.
