I am eligible to receive social security in December. My nine year old son will also be eligible for s.s. Can I be certain that if my child's mother succeeds in having his check issued to her that I will no longer have to pay child support? The social security check will be more than double my child support check. My sun lives with me almost half time and my income is lower than his mothers.
