How Can I Request A Hold On Ohio Child Support

by Lynn
(Salem, OH, USA)

I have 2 children I am receiving support for. Their father and I are trying to work out our issues and reconcile. We are going to be moving back in together and eventually would like to get married if we can get everything worked out. My ? is can we put a hold or stay on the child support rather than ending it and possibly having to get it ordered again while we work on our relationship and if so can we go through the child support agency or do we need to hire a lawyer and go through court.

Hello Lynn,

No there is no such thing as a hold. Either there is a open case or a closed case. Also it is very difficult to get a case closed. It would need to go before a judge and be ordered. Are you still married?

Thanks

Someone told me they have a hold on their child support
by: Anonymous

Thank you for telling us that there is no such thing as a hold on child support. I know a person who keeps telling her child that there is a hold on her child support and that it is building up money and as soon as they release it the money will be sent to the child. I have never heard of such a thing. Thanks again
