Getting Ex To Pay Child Support To Ohio

MY EX-HUSBAND AND I GOT DIVORCED IN 2003. I LIVE IN OHIO, AND HE LIVES IN ALABAMA. WE SHARE AN 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, OF WHICH I AM SOLE CUSTODIAN. DURING THE DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS, HE WAS COURT ORDERED TO PAY CHILD SUPPORT. AS OF NOW, HE OWES OVER $30,000 IN ARREARS. THE STATE OF OHIO IS TELLING ME THAT THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT IS UP TO HIS STATE OF RESIDENCE (ALABAMA) TO ENFORCE THE ORDER. MEANWHILE, I AM STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL OF THIS, AND IF I GET A PAYMENT AT ALL, IT MIGHT BE $100 EVERY THREE MONTHS OR SO. I AM TIRED OF FIGHTING NOT ONLY HIM, BUT BOTH STATES, AND I AM GETTING NOWHERE. THEY AREN'T DOING A THING ABOUT IT SO HE'S GETTING AWAY WITH BEING A DEADBEAT DAD! WHAT CAN I DO? AM I WITHIN MY LEGAL RIGHTS TO SUE THE STATE(S) FOR NOT ENFORCING THE ORDER?

Thank you for sharing. We do understand how difficult certain cases may be. Especially when there are multiple states involved. Ohio is correct, he resides in Alabama, therefore it is up to that state to issue any license suspensions, liens ect. Now Ohio can issue a bench warrant for him in the state of Ohio. You may wish to contact your Ohio caseworker and ask. Have you ever received his tax offset?

No, I have not received a single tax offset, and not understanding why I haven't even gotten that much.
