Foster Care 3 Years Ago

In 2006 and 2007 my daughter was put in foster care at fault of her mother. I was never given the opportunity to take care of my daughter. When i tried i was told i would have to complete classes. I did not do anything wrong but still was required to complete the classes. I could not complete the courses due to work. My daughter was given up for adoption as a result.

I am now unemployed and the state is now requesting that i pay support for the time she was in foster care with her mother. I was upset because i was never given the chance to care for her at the time and years later they are seeking financial support that never mentioned. During the majority of my daughters first years i was told i was not her father. Later after requesting a test it was determined that i was her father.
