Eldest Child Or First To Claim Paternity

by Dana
(Illinois)

I am just trying to get paternity established and child support for my seven year old son. His father already has an order for child support for his other two children, whom are 3 and 2 years old. So, does the eldest child get the most amount then the younger children? Or does the other mother of his children get the most amount since she got the child support order put in place before me??

Hi Dana,

When calculating support, it is his income and the amount of children. Who has an order first is not the issue. Your state will calculate according to all the children. Do all three children live in the same state?
