Hello Vip Member,

First of all, thank you for becoming a valued VIP member. We are so sorry for the delayed response. To answer your question, we don't think that the CSEA can double dip by taking out child support twice.

That would not be fair unless the child support was divided equally between both employers.

My husband had them come out of both checks. He had to file paperwork with the court to get them to take X amount out of one and X amount out of the other. They should either be taking the total amount owed out of one, or dividing it equally between the two. But you may have to get some paperwork filed with the court so they know. That is what we had to do.

In the state of Iowa, under normal circumstances, if a person works for more than one employer, the csru will ask the question, is both employers showing the c.s. obligor as holding full time employment? if one is a full time job and it is being supplemented with a part time job, they do not normally require the part time employer to withhold money to be paid as child support as long as the full time employer is able to withhold the total amount ordered monthly that is required for the monthly payments and any arrearages ordered and included in the monthly payment amount
