Daughters Child Support Lowered Due To Marriage And Baby

by Smith8
(North Carolina)

I have a beautiful 20 month old baby girl. Her father doesn't want her and he has nothing to do with her. I have offered him to see her but his wife and him refuse to. He pays child support but he is trying to have it lowered and taken away from my daughter since his wife is pregnant with his child. My daughter was his first born child. I don't feel that my daughter should suffer cause he doesn't want her. His wife is pushing him to sign his rights away in which I don't want him to throw his rights away to his daughter. What will happen when his new child gets here, and what will happen to my daughters support. Please help me.

Thank you for sharing. Yes your daughter's child support could potentially be lowered when his new child arrives. Child Support calculates deductions for other children he supports. Even though he signs away his rights, may not mean he will be off the hook from paying support to your daughter. Were you and he married?
