Child Support for An Illegitimate Child

by Anonymous
(Ohio)

My fiance has an illegitimate child with a woman he was never married to.

When we get married, will the child support he pays be increased according to our combined income?

He makes $30,000, the mother of the child makes $35,000 and I make $85,000.

The mother of the child threatens that she is taking us to court the day after the wedding because then the child support will have to be increased, including my income.

We live in Columbiana County, OH. Is there any truth to this threat?

No It is not your responsibility for the child. That will be your soon to be husbands responsibility only. She can not take your money. Your not legally responsible. The only way she can is if your soon to be husband owes back pay they will take it out of your taxes if you file married.
