Can Child Support Be Increased Due To Remarriage

(Florida)

My husband's ex wife is threatening to take him to court to get more child support based on the fact that our combined income is more since he married me. Can she really do that? I thought child support was solely based on his and her income and cannot be based on combined income because of remarriage.

Child Support Questions
by: CSA STAFF

Hello

Yes this is true in some states they will base it on the income of the entire family. Contact Your child support caseworker and ask to be sure about the state where the case is open.

Thanks
