Establishing Paternity

Establishing Paternity is something that must be done before a child support order can be established. The word paternity means fatherhood. You can establish this in the hospital by signing The Voluntary Acknowledgement of Paternity form. This form is used when the father and the mother are not married. Both parents should sign the form so they will not have to go to court to establish paternity.

Applying for Child Support Services

Only persons with custody of the child are allowed to fill out an application for services. There is a non-refundable fee of $25.00 per child support order. If you and the child are currently receiving state help, you automatically qualify for child support services at no cost to the obligee. The Office of Child Support Enforcement has 800 plus employees to help you collect and receive child support. The Laws are designed to help both the obligee and the obligor.
Paying Child Support

Non-custodial parents who are self-employed or not having the employer to automatically deduct the proper amount of the child support from his/her check, now have a choice on how they can make their child support payments.

You can make payments on your child support order by doing the following.

• Send check or money order directly to the

• Pay using OSCE Web Pay with a credit card or eCheck
• Pay by Western Union using the Western Union Quick Collect Service, available nationwide (call 1-800-325-6000 to find the Western Union Agent location nearest you.)

* If paying by Western Union, you will need to provide the following information:

• Pay To: Arkansas Child Support Enforcement
  Code City: ARCHILD
  State: AR
  Account Info: Enter 9-digit case number in the account number field. Enter your Social Security number on the attention line.

Receiving Child Support

The Office of Child Support Enforcement has a couple of ways to pay the obligee their child support payments. One of those ways is through Direct Deposit to your checking or savings account. The second way is having payments deposited with a prepaid U.S. BankVisa ReliaCard. This visa card is a pre-paid card. There is no bank account attached to this card. Your child support payment is automatically loaded on the card. You can use it to make purchases and get cash at an ATM machine. These types of payments to your visa card are called electronic payments.
