17 Year Old Son Moved Out Of Fathers Home

by Mary JOnes
(Houston, TX, USA)

My ex has had custody of my son for 9 years now. My son just turned 17 in March and withdrew from school and now has moved out of his father's home to another city in Wyoming to live with his friends. I have filed a pro se request to suspend my support on the basis that he is no longer enrolled in school and no longer living with his father. He will be 18 in March. My ex is livid that I have done this. What are my options?

Dear Mary,

You are doing all the right things. Have you requested a review of the case?

I have not requested a review. Would that request be made to the Child Support Enforcement office? I feel that I am at a serious disadvantage because I do not live in the same state and am not aware of the State of Wyoming laws.
